The unit is very reliable during the hot summer nights particularly in Illinois which we just had a heat wave last week and more to come. Installed the unit and surprisingly after 15 to 20 mins. of runtime in the area where I installed the same , the temperature dropped by 3 degrees. The area is 500 sq. ft which comprises the receiving room and kitchen.One thing i like about the unit is, it also has an energy saver mode which runs as a central A/C. it automatically turns itself off ( the whole unit)and on according to your desired temperature using the remote sensing control. The unit could be also programmed in a sleep mode for 24 hour. It's just like having a central A/C but in a smaller package.With this unit you could save more and rely on
